All the more so when it's a deliberate choice rather than an accident of birth or inertia.
Every day brings new views, new discoveries, and new people.
For the enquiring mind, and outdoor body, it's a fascinating place to be.
We have had the good fortune to live and work in many of Britain's great cities, but since we have been together Cornwall has been our spiritual home.
Now we live full time in the most westerly town in Britain. On the edge. In St just.
Amanda's a Yorkshire girl who loved Cornwall from the first time Kelvin brought her here, despite it being a wild winter weekend.
Kelvin had the good fortune to be born in the far west and spent much of his early years on the beaches of Gwithian, Portreath and Porthtowan.
We came home to St Just to build our boutique cottage rental business and called it The Cornish Way. It's now in the capable hands of our good friend Seb and it's the best place to book your holiday in the far west.
In 2017 we transferred The Cornish Way to Seb to enable us to pursue a new dream.
We found that we love the freedom they bring.
We were excited by the pared down living experience – you have to think about everything you take, and everything you leave behind.
And most importantly - we knew we could build something better than the vans we'd tried.
The dream of Archie Van had begun.
You can share the dream and rent Archie for a few days, or a couple of weeks if there's availability.
Soon, we'll take him on a big adventure. No doubt we'll learn more, make changes, and hopefully create something even better.
You'll be able to follow us on our blog The Cornish Wanderer.
